Confessions of a Blogger

by Parker on December 11, 2010

Remember how I made that promise awhile back? To stop concentrating on making short term doh(doing workshops) for the next 4-6 months, so that I can work on this blog full time?

I want you to know that I am still keeping that promise.

-

Parker, if you’re doing this full time, how come you’re barely updating this blog?

-

Well, the answer to that is simply because:  I am learning.

As I’ve mentioned before, without understanding the importance the spoken word — I cheated English all throughout school.

Illiterate. At twenty one my writing capabilities were no more than of a fourteen year old kid.

Capping out at voicing only thirty words daily, I couldn’t form a simple opinion without stuttering or looking like a fool.

With embarrassment and much passion to improve, I bought a grammar book and relearned all my basics(nouns, verbs, and adverbs, etc).

As time progressed so did my skills.

-

But now we’ve come to my Second Act: I want a voice.

-

As my fingers strike down at this keyboard, I want you to know exactly what I’m feeling this very moment, I want you to truly celebrate with me on better days, be there with me when times are nuts, krazy, and tragically sad.

With that in mind, I’ve been doing a lot of reading; to become a better writer.

The past four weeks have been nothing more than navigating through endless amounts of books, blogs, & magazines.

I’ve been reading various authors whom I look up to, taking what I enjoy about them by fusing their style with my own.

You, my readers, are always on my mind.

I want to show you that I’m here for the long haul.

I’m sacrificing these empty days to have better ones, I want you to not only learn but also enjoy your time with me.

As the days, weeks, and months pass, I promise that this temporary wait won’t be in vein.

I know and understand that you are giving me something that you can never have back, your time.

-

I don’t take you for granted.

-

Thank-you, I know.

Hey Parker with writing like that, I really don’t know what you’re talking about not having a voice!

Thanks for sharing

Hey Parker,
Don’t worry about it! You’ve got a ton of knowledge that you can share with the world. Even if your English isn’t that good, do some videos.

You’ve come so far in getting good with girls, I have no doubt that you will learn to be a great writer if you apply yourself!

Also, if you want to be a great writer, you need to write. Every single day. Try to write 1000 words a day, even if you never use the articles. It’s all about practice.

I’ve gotten way better than when I was when I first started 2 years ago, but I’m still far from being a great writer.

Keep rocking man and happy holiday season!

Hey Parker, I noticed a typo at the end of this post – the kind that spellcheckers overlook.
How do I tell you about it privately?
